Classic in Wageningen Foundation provides a stage for young, talented musicians and supports the performance of classical music in Wageningen. The figurehead of the Foundation is the Rhinegold Festival, a chamber music festival held each fall.
Our story
In 2022, the Rhinegold Festival was born out of an urgency to support young musicians and the cultural sector. After graduating from the conservatory, it is often difficult to get concerts and thus generate an income. With this festival, we create work for these young people and the creative sector. We give them the opportunity to share their music, gain chamber music experience and discover new repertoire. At the same time, the festival serves as a welcome addition to the cultural offerings in Wageningen and the surrounding area. We offer programming that is accessible to everyone, from young to old and those less fortunate.
Rhinegold Festival
The flagship event of the Klassiek in Wageningen Foundation is the ‘Rhinegold Festival,’ Wageningen’s premier chamber music festival, which is held every October. During this festival, concerts for all audiences are held right in the heart of Wageningen. Watch the aftermovies from recent years here: www.youtube.com/@rhinegoldfestival
