From Thursday, Oct. 15 to Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, the 5th Rhinegold Festival will take place.
During our thematic Evening Concerts, you will experience the passion and interaction between the musicians up close. The musical pieces are connected by means of a theme. The musicians themselves tell the audience how they experience and interpret the music. In each Evening Concert we combine great masterpieces with music by composers who may be less well-known.
Thus, during the opening concert A composer's life works by Webern, Lili Boulanger and Debussy, a world premiere by Composer of the Netherlands Camiel Jansen, and we end the concert with Brahms’ compelling Clarinet Quintet.
During the second Evening Concert Vivid evocations we explore visual music by composers such as Szymanowski and Korngold. The program will be complemented by romantic music by Schumann and Saint-Saëns' famous Danse macabre.
The closing concert Musical fireworks opens with a grand octet by Shostakovich. Next, adventurous klezmer sounds resound in Schoenfield's trio. The festival concludes with Chausson's sparkling and majestic Concert for violin, piano and string quartet.

In addition to the Evening Concerts, we also organize other events to appeal to the broadest possible audience. The Lunch Concert is for the curious who want to listen to an extra accessible program. The Coffee Concert is for early risers who want to experience Bach's music in a very intimate way. For our youngest visitors, we organize the Family Concert with a theatrical and festive concert. The Walking Concert is free to attend and concludes with a concert by the MeeSpeelOrkest.
