‘A wonderful and intense time in Wageningen, well-spent together with a great bunch of musicians. It was a real treat and enormous pleasure to be in this bubble for a few days. Thank you and best of luck for the coming editions!’
Welcome to the 5th edition of Rhinegold Festival, Wageningen's chamber music festival.
During our first anniversary edition we will celebrate our festival with grand masterpieces, unknown musical gems, a world premiere, familiar and new faces.
The Rhinegold Festival has a unique concept. We invite a group of individual musicians to stay in Wageningen for the entire week. They are paired together in all sorts of different combinations, ranging from an intimate duo to a large octet. In a short period of time, they work intensively on the entire program. Ultimately, this results in musical spontaneity and a fresh energy during the festival concerts. This is exactly what we want to show and share: classical music is alive and brings people together!

‘It was the first concert with my toddler (lunch concert)! He found it very exciting, but had even ended up sitting in the main hall for a while at the last performance, and hopped out of the church very happy.’
‘Super happy with this initiative! Well organized, welcoming, diverse, approachable. Keep going!’
‘Excellent musicians - and a fantastic quartet - and a wonderful program! We were introduced to pieces of music we didn't know before, and my child of 12 enjoyed it immensely as well. A great evening! The musicians’ enthusiasm makes it extra enjoyable.'
‘With some pieces I got chills down my spine, that's how beautiful I thought it sounded and also the church was perfect. Sounded very pure and perfect.’
‘Glad we got to enjoy your talents again. Nice to see you enthusing each other and having so much fun. That gives the music wings. We are already looking forward to next year. Super gift to Wageningen.’
Next year, we're hosting the 6th edition of the Rhinegold Festival! Be sure to mark these dates on your calendar!
